How to become private investigator in North Dakota?

In order to work as a private investigator you will have to get the license from North Dakota private Investigation and Security Board. In order to get the license the basic requirements are that you must be at least 18 years of age. You must be citizen of United States and not be convicted of any crime in United States or any of its territories. You must be of good moral character. You must not be addicted to drinking, smoking. You will have gone through a thorough background check and also get your finger prints. You should be a high school graduate or hold an equivalent high school diploma.

Then you will have to fill the application form to get the license. You can get the forms here. It is necessary that you fill the form correctly. All the information should be provided in the form. Each and every question should be answered. You should attach all the required documents along with the form. The documents to be attached are two fingerprint cards, two passport size photographs. You can get the fingerprints done from police or sheriffs office. You will also have to provide a copy showing surety bond.

It is necessary for you to appear and pass the exam conducted by the board within 12 months preceding the date of application. You will also have to provide an experience certificate showing an experience of two thousand hours as an employee of detective agency. You will also have to provide the fee to get the license. The fee structure is as follows: $100.00 as application & testing fee, $52.00 as criminal records search fee, $130.00 as license fees.

You will have to take a thorough care of expiration of the license. The license is valid for two years. The license expires on September thirtieth of every odd numbered month. You will have to pay a late fee of $50 for each month your license is not renewed. You will have to complete a continuing education during the renewal period. To complete the education you will charge a reasonable as decided by the board.
